How to register an NGO in South Sudan?

NGOs in South Sudan are governed by the NGO Act which is managed by the South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC). The requirements for NGOs registration with the RRC are stipulated in the NGO Act of 2016. Below are some of requirements for NGO Registration with  RRC.

  1. Submission of an application for registration to the Registrar in the prescribed form;
  2.  The application for registration shall be made by the director or representation of the organisation and should specify the following:
    • Organogram of the organisation
    • Head office address of the organisation
    • Sectors of operations
    • Areas of operations (specifying state, country, payam and boma)
    • Annual budget
    • All known or probable sources of funding for the organisation
    • Organisation assets and projects assets
    • Prescribed fees
    • Copy of country agreement with the Government of South Sudan
    • Certified copy of registration from country of origin in the case if an international organisation
    • Evidence of the organisations financial capacity to implement the programmes
    • Opening of bank account in South Sudan
