South Sudan faced multiple crises during the last quarter of 2021, with widespread flooding continuing to impact people and their livelihoods across the country. Some 854,0001 people have been reported to be flood-affected as of end of November including vulnerable areas such as Bentiu in Unity State. Meanwhile, the conflict in Tambura has also displaced close to 80,0002 people, with the conflict-affected population fleeing to the nearby counties of Ezo, Nagero, Yambio, Namutina, Wau, Nzara and Moso.

Infrastructure and Services for Community Resilience
The report highlights the progress and achievements of the Enhancing Community Resilience and Local Governance Project Phase II (ECRP II). ECRP II builds on the preceding and completed Local Governance and Service Delivery Project and to address immediate needs for basic services and flood risk reduction in selected vulnerable areas of the country while strengthening community institutions and local government’s capacity to better manage local development and supporting the national government to provide oversight.
